Restless Leg Syndrome: What Are the Symptoms? And, How Do You Know if That’s What’s Causing Your Leg Issues?

Last month, I had a booth at Solivita in Poinciana for their annual health fair. I met so many fit and health savvy residents. Many I spoke with shared stories about different sensations they have in their legs throughout the day, and well into the night while sleeping. I decided to write this blog post tonight to share with you some symptoms of the condition known as Restless Leg Syndrome. People have a very hard time pinpointing the exact feeling/sensation they are having in their legs, which is common! The condition of RLS is associated with the following conditions/symptoms:

  • Feeling an urge to move your legs and sometimes your arms
  • While at rest, symptoms increase and are worse when laying down, or sitting for long periods of time
  • Sleep deprivation due to legs “raging” or feeling antsy, creepy, and uncomfortable
  • Movement seems to improve symptoms temporarily

Have You Tried Speaking to Your Primary Care Physician About Your Symptoms?

Did you get an actual diagnosis of “Restless Leg Syndrome”? If yes, are you taking any neurological medications or iron supplements to soothe the symptoms, but having no improvement? Do you try taking natural remedies and yet, no improvements? Well, guess what? You might be one of the 30+ million with “Restless Leg SYMPTOMS”…let’s dig a little deeper now. I am going to share with you information that has helped hundreds of patients suffering with restless leg symptoms! The reason is, for some patients, the symptoms are associated with a vein problem called, Chronic Venous Insufficiency. Once you’ve consulted with your family doctor and are still seeking answers, our Certified Vascular Technician at Hannum Vascular will conduct an advanced Venous Doppler study in the office to analyze your veins (it’s an ultrasound, so no pain whatsoever!). Chronic Venous Insufficiency is one of the leading causes of:

  • Leg Pain
  • Itchy, burning, tingling in the legs
  • Cramps in the legs and sometimes feet (anytime of day, often early morning “charlie horse”)
  • Swollen Legs
  • Varicose Veins and an abundance of Spider Veins
  • Skin color and/or texture changes
  • Sometimes if left untreated, sores on the legs called, venous ulcers

Should your study result in a positive diagnosis for Chronic Venous Insufficiency (aka: vein disease, venous reflux) we can identify your condition and treat the problem which causes your symptoms! The venous ablation treatment is covered by insurance plans because it’s not a cosmetic treatment. Radio-frequency Venefit and endovenous laser ablation is what I like to use because I’ve had a great amount of success with patients. I’ve been treating vein disease since 2001. All devices have advanced in technology to become less invasive, less pain, less bruising, fast recovery time. The number one thing I hear from patients is how much better their legs feel. After each procedure, the patients are able to get up and walk out of the room, and are back to normal within 1-2 days. It’s a very simple, in office treatment that provides lasting relief! Please call my office today if you’re suffering. I’m here to help! Office: 800-555-1111
